Hey Guys. I'm about to take my car in for it's 20,000 mile check up. I'm going to be stripping the car down to bone stock because I've got a broken motor mount I want to have fixed under warranty. Also I really can't afford the hassle of them voiding my warranty right now.
I'd like to temporarily swap ECUs with someone in the NoVA area for about 3 days. It's gotta be NoVA though no DC MD peeps sorry. I have a VAG tool to perform the swap and the whole thing takes like 20 minutes.
I'd appreciate the help if anyone is available. It's a good chance for you to evaluate APR's work if you were thinking about chipping your car.

Help a Bruva out yO!

I wouldn't trust me at soldering. It's best if you have that done by someone who is use to working with small electronics. I could definately link your ecu to your car though. That's really easy to do. Also as long as you're soldering the chip into your stock ECU it shouldn't need to be associated with your car. Everything should happen automatically. But if you have any codes you need to clear or just want to make some runs we should be able to do that.

Re: Temp swap my APR ECU for Stock ECU in NoVA (Raring 2 Go)

Nah just fault code erase......which now that I have access to a VAG tool is kinda dumb to have. Actually let me ask some advice of you guys. My friend Drew has EMCS with Stock/chipped but no lock out. Do you think if I swapped ECUs with him and put the car in stock mode they'd do enough detective work to find the chip? I'm probably just being paranoid. Raring 2 Go did you run into any problems with visible mods on your car? Nothing is horribly wrong with mine but I think I bent or broke a mount somewhere. Plus they do a lot of work on the 20k check up so I want to have the car stock as possible.

free bump for ya, i had an extra ECU that I could give you but I sold it 2 weeks ago, sorry

They shouldnt do THAT much detective work if they took it out and felt it stock. Wouldn't worry about it if you just replaced the ECU. They have no reason to look in it.

Springfield has voided a warranty (on a clutch repair) for a chip before. But I use them and have a good relationship so far.
And Rave - the answer is no, you're safe in stock mode. If I wasn't in the middle of exams and busy as crap I'd hook you up with my EMCS.
