...so he hooked it up and found the problem

...problem resolved

VeryBerryNezzy,Take it back to whoever did your AC and have them check the compressor,it sounds like it is binding internally or AC clutch bearing is going.If you bought a used unit,then anything is possible,a new unit,you should have a guarantee...
