That really chaps my arse

I just read the november PVW and I must say I am very upset at the article "Auty's Bloomers." WHOOPTY DOO! This guy put 19" wheels on his GTI. Unlike the October issue with the Roma Tuning Mk2 Golf, there is nothing special about this. Marco Veldhyis built his 19" wheels himself, and they are hub-centric. That, in itself is impressive, but he also has a 342bph 16v G60! That is a cool car I would like to read about.
Now, this piece of work on the other hand sickens me. Number one, HE CAN'T EVEN DRIVE IT because he doesn't have a licence. He has done dick-all to the engine (8valve)with exception to a scorpian exhaust. Now this really gets me.....he didn't even do a complete paint job! THE ENGINE BAY IS RED!!! while the rest of the car is a nice new purple/black. TACKY! SICK! BLAH! and to top it off, euro rice.
There happens to be a TON of sweet mk2's out there that are WAY more interesting than some kid's that hasn't even passed his drivers test! Now don't think that I'm just choked because I can't get in, I know I can't ( well, with this kinda junk maybe I can!) I just can't belive that some half-assed car gets a 3 page spread just because he has big wheels! Reeeeeediculous.

I'm hearin' ya Fettes http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
I remember when they featured a 1.8T Mk1 - they put more emphasis on the dash swap than the motor conversion http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif

it's just a car...and an extension of one personality...
Re: That really chaps my arse (clickhappy)

Re: That really chaps my arse (Fettes Brot)

that's Euro tuning for you. Similar to all the US 2.0 people with huge body kits and 18" wheels....
Re: That really chaps my arse (16v)

Hell,at least he's got a 1.8. Ive seen cars in that mag with ALL KINDS of trick sh1t done to them, then they've got some teeny 1.1 litre motor. All I can think of is PVW is runnin' short of cars to feature. And that the mag has been going downhill since Matt Turner left.

I DISAGREE. That's UK tuning maybe, but having spent the whole summer in Europe I can honestly tell you that a lot of the show cars in Germany/Holland had the power to back up their looks.
Re: That really chaps my arse (marek)

There was just something about that whole November PVW issue. I didn't really care for any of it
I can't wait for the December issue.

Go figure, that's PVW for ya. Seems like the looks is all they go after. Forget the important stuff (not saying the looks aren't tho), like the engine, and related mods!
Re: That really chaps my arse (PimpStylin')

i have every single issue from the start.... some of them are great and some of them are crap! sometimes i wonder "what the hell is this 2$ ****ecan doing in ANY magazine??"
Re: That really chaps my arse (fastwagen)
