How many of you have A2's that have 200k miles and above? On the original engine and tranny?
You can mark my name down on the list with an estimated 221k.

Hit 200K just over a week ago

The funniest part was the odo got stuck at 199999. It didn't want to roll over. I hit the reset button, and she started up again.

270,000 miles on the original motor and tranny for the GTI. I will not be a part of the 300k mile club (w/orig parts) as I am gathering parts for a 2.0 swap this spring.

I'm in too.. 325,500 kilometers and going.. that's just over 203,000 miles when converted, and I'm also looking into a 2.0L ABA swap or a 2.0L 16V

I'm guessing about 350,000km or 220,000miles.
(My odometer stopped at 197,000km, that was 5 years ago!)
Original engine,
Original transmission
Third clutch
third fuel pump
second drivers seat
I dont even know how many aero lights ive gone through..

Approaching 234,000 on original engine and tranny........still pulling strong........
Oh yeah.......had original clutch up to about 230,000.........

I'm pretty sure I'm there I had about a year span where the cluster stopped counting miles and then all of a sudden started working again. Dave

My '89 GLI 16V turned 201K last Thursday. I rebuilt the head as soon as I bought it; it was a timing belt victim.
My buddy's '92 GTI 8V has 306K, and his engine/tranny combo are original.

I was about to get a black 88 16v, with 91000 miles but the thing stunk like a cat. And it was all dirty too. It would've been a catch but I just said no thanks. I figure I might as well stick it out with my current motor till it dies. By that time I'll have a VR6 in my hands. Yea.

215.5k miles, 214.9k of them before i got it.

It's the original engine, but I got to put in what's at least the 3rd tranny.

It had a (holed and patched) 4K tranny when I got it, found a 9A tranny from a cabrio for $50.

My 90 GLI has 230k miles on it. At least that is what the stopped odometer shows...

GLI = 201,000
Golf GT = 207,000
and they both have plenty left in them

I'm in with 208,500 miles, but the engine was swapped about six years ago.

I have about 3000000 on mine. odo broke at 220000 in 1996 so Im doing good. origional engine and still eats rice daily and sings up to redline.

Closing in...196,000. But the transmission has been rebuilt, and it'll have ABA power before 200,000.
