How many races before merc locks out constructors championship
With the 2021 regulations being pushed back to 2022, this is a given. Hamilton and Mercedes will both 8 championships. The only question is at what round?

Looking forward to seeing VET in a better car, SCH in any car, and a few new liveries.

Oh, and ALO. Hope he scores some points.

292 days? Don't you mean 98 days? Should be the shortest winter break ever due to how late the season finished.

Will be happy to be back at Suzuka next season... really missed that calendar stop his year.

I hope they still have a race in Vietnam. Would love to see the results of the new processes utilized to create an exiting track for fans to watch.

I must admit i lost a bit of faith in BRAWN with some of his asinine statements about the history of F1 vis-a-vi reverse grids.

In. Despite similar/same technical regs, with new drivers and drivers with new teams, it should be an exciting season. And a short off season too!

Really hope Mercedes dominance ends soon. It's so boring.
It's been forgotten that Red Bull went in the wrong direction with the car at the start of the season. It was even said mid season that Alpha Tauri had a better chassis. Honda came on song this year to bolster the team, yet Albon was never close enough to aid in strategy games to disrupt Mercedes. Hopefully in 2021 Red Bull will fix the aero/balance of the car and replace Albon.

Ferrari too went on the wrong direction with the aero at the start of the season plus were caught cheating last season so were down on power. Vettel lost his mojo but it wouldn't have changed their fate this year if he were better.

So you had only Verstappen chasing this year alone.

Next year, Red Bull needs to figure out the car and replaced Albon.

Ferrari will have Sainz and Leclerc to help develop the car and bring results.

Racing Point will have Vettel and let's hope it's the Vettel of old.

Ricciardo to McLaren who are on the upswing. Alonso to Renault, eager to show he's still got it.

Tsunoda will be at Alpha Tauri and **** at Haas, so that will make it interesting too

This is actually the early (but still mathematically incorrect 2022 season countdown thread).

Anyways, with the driver changes, and certain teams switching power plants, I'm excited for next season. I think it should be a lot more competitive.

Yeah, that makes more sense. I saw that "292 More days" flashing on the side of the circuit today while I was trying to format the table in the OP and didn't even question it. 292 days is next October. duh.
Yeah - I think that was for the Expo thing they have there that was on those same signs.

2021 Gonna Be Fun

Seems Leclerc agrees he will be tested by Sainz and we will know whi Red Bull chooses before Christmas:

Leclerc: "For Carlos, I am very happy for him to join the team. It is a great opportunity for him. He is very consistent in the races too, as he has shown all season, so it is going to be a good challenge for me."

Red Bull news, rumorand actual:

. "The deal between Checo and Red Bull is almost complete, although there are still some fringes," Fábrega told the television station.

Before Christmas the Austrian race team will announce which of the three (Alexander Albon, Nico Hulkenberg or Perez) will be Max Verstappen's teammate for at least one year in 2021.

McMike,

I have been an F1 fan for 20 years. I'm also a German car "fanatic." So obviously, Lewis is my my guy. 7 time world champ! I am just glad we had the races we had! I had a kid on my school bus 5 years ago and his dad is the VP of Finance at Ferrari of North America. Have never been to a race in person but I really want to go. My mom died almost 2 years ago and I couldn't make Texas because I was taking care of her but one day soon. After Lewis retires I don't think I'll be that interested. Dude is straight-up ridiculous! And MB/Petronas is the team now! Abu Dhabi track is incredible.
