Generel exhaust system questions (which is the best, what should I buy, how do you like, etc) are entirely too common around here, and there is no point in answering them over and over again. This thread will serve as the central repository for all general exhaust purchasing related threads and posts. Please read through it before posting, and if you have additional questions post them in this thread. This will help us continue to make the a4 (b5) forum more of a resource with less fragmented information.

i just put a borla on my 2001, and i couldnt be more happy with it. i only got to hear it for a few days and then my alternator happends to die. lol

A complete borla branded exhaust is 2.25 vs most other exhausts being 2.5 (ideal for most applications) or 3 (ideal for big turbo).

That's not a borla. That's a techtonics tuning exhaust. They happen to use borla mufflers.

wow i guess borla must use some crazy magic piping if the borla with 2.25" and the one from techtonics 2.5 piping and borla muffler doesn't sound alything alike. that's crazy. i'd just rather not spend a grand on an exhaust.

dont get the 2.25 its way to quiet and as rob said you cant do to much to the car before you would need larger piping so go with a 2.5 or custom.

eurosport tuning makes a 2.5" catback. i love mine. deep and gives it a bit more growl, but not too loud and obnoxious.

ive looked at soem of the catback kits for the 1.8t and there pricy, i'm lookin to make the car sound betetr but not spend tons, can i just put a muffler on and make it sound better?

since when Borla is one of the loudest made for our cars...
I have Milltek, I love it, but its expensive, if you have money to throw at things like that, you'll love it, if not, go custom.
Do your research, I spend a few months deciding on what exhaust to buy, by the time I decided, I had $$ for whatever one I wanted.

yes, i have a remus muffler on mine and it sounds incredible

i got a brand new neuspeed. if ur interested let me know.

60mm to 70mm. + DP. retail is 799.. make me an offer.. mine is front drive so i cant use it my slef.. i kinda realised it late... lool.
