just take the engine cover off and put it in your trunk.. it fits the hoses nicely but the engine cover rubs on the top vacuum hose.
good luck,
James

i agree w/ Boosted'01PhillyWolf. i just took the engine cover off cause the vacuum was melted/rubbed on the top from the engine cover.

Thanks guys, however what worries me is the following:
1. Does the dv need some sort of lubrication eg. the piston before fitting and
2. does the ECU need to be reset after fitment?

it should have come pre-lubricated. (just screw off the top and you'll see)
it's just install and drive. (make sure you have the 3 clamps, after you take off the oem crimp clamps you can't reuse them)

I have the 007P and still had issues with it rubbing the engine cover. If you can acquire a heat gun, you can soften the plastic where the cover makes contact with the top hose of the DV. Then I used the handle of a screwdriver to push the softened area away from the hose. Makes a nice little power bulge in your cover. Oh yeah, you can mark the area that needs to be molded by appying a rolled piece of tape and sticking it to the top DV hose. Once you remove the engine cover again, you'll know just where to apply the heat. Sorry, no pic yet.
