i dont know if any of you have seen my car but i painted it olive green with a chalkboard hood as seen here.

well after seeing one too many olive green cars with black hoods i changed it up a bit. i ran into this stuff while i was at jerrys...

and so begins...

starting to prime

before paint

second coat of paint

drying

and as it sits right now, i know it doesnt really match the rest of the car but meh, and yes those are rivets holding on my front flairs... oh yea, and i realize my front flairs are darker than the rest of the trim in these pictures, it started raining right after i got them painted so i havent been able to do the other pieces yet.

i will probably be repainting it to something a bit lighter to match the hood when i get some nicer weather

it comes in 2 cans, the base and an activator, you mix them together then roll them on with a fine sponge roller that you have to buy separately. not much too it really. works great but just like any dry erase board if you leave black marker on it too long you have to go at it with soapy water.

Thats awesome. How does the paint of the hood compare to alpine white? Are they similar or would you be able to tell the difference drastically?
List of where I could find the paint online? what type of sponge is it?

No offense but what makes it so retarded?
I think its a clever idea. Especially if your at a meet or on a roadtrip, have random people tag up your hood. Could also double up as a grocery list maker or a quick math board if your trying to sum up the costs of fixing your mk2 once it breaks down

its is a bit brighter than alpine white, it actually turned out about the same color as a dry erase board, not quite as smooth of a finish but damn nice for a dry erase hood...

I painted my cars hood with the chalkboard stuff. I never wrote on it though.
