The new T-bird

1522 Views 12 Replies 10 Participants Last post by  Natty
I saw one yesterday in Jersey City, So I had to pull over jump a fence and take a look. It sucks. It looked alot better at the NY auto show. It was gray that made me think of a dull winter afternoon. The seats were black.. or dark gray. The car just looked tired. It cant been more than a couple of weeks old, and it looks like it is 10 years sold.. Not the condition. Paint was perfect just a bad color. Some people walking though I was nuts for going over the fence to get a better look.

Yeah, it was a good idea, just poorly executed.
Climbing the fence, I mean.

These new T-birds are supposed to be everywhere since owners are taking delivery these days. You don't need to risk your life to look at one of these.

Seeing as how I've been seeing them on and off on the highway for quite some time...

<--- Driven a Nieman Marcus Edition several times. Pretty tight car, I don't like all the chrome though. And plus, my SHO can hang with it anyday ;D

The dash is exactly the same as my dad's Lincoln LS. Its not really a bad thing, but it seems too modern and I personally would hope for something a little more unique if I was paying that much for a car.

I sat in one @ the Seattle Auto Show.
More clostrophobic than a TT.
Build quality- http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif http://****************.com/smile/emthdown.gif
When I closed the door there was a the typical Ford hollow rattle. The whole interior was uncomfortable, bad seats bad ergonomic. And for a car that is so special they still used the Lincoln LS interior. Blah.
Exterior demiensions are whack. The car looks like a small coupe from a distance. Up close the thing is huge. And I mean MEGA!! It is not that wide or tall, it is just SUPERLONG! Oh well.

Hehe they used the Lincoln LS everything
I'm 6'2" and it kind of sucks having your head rubbing the roof, I'm going to have to agree with the claustrophobic comment.

Cause Thunderbird is based on the DEW98 platform that shares with LS and S-Type.
Re: The new T-bird (A4Jetta)

Right, also because the things aren't selling. It could have been a better car if it had more style, but it's so plain, it's better to have the sedan unless you need the convertible.
ed - LS isn't selling. See below post \/

You meant the T-bird or the LS wasn't selling?
