I'm not 100% sure, but I think Chrome Yellow (L20A) was the yellow used on US models in '75, if it's true that Sunshine Yellow wasn't available in the US.

I'm pretty sure it was L13K "Sunshine Yellow" in 75-76. Same color as on 914s, but different name on the Porsche. Kind of a creamy yellow:

This is correct, it was called Sunflower yellow on both the 914 and the Superbeetle Cabriolet. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

I beg to differ on this one! They did have Sunshine yellow in the US, but I think it was a different code?? Do you remember what code that was Randall?

Re: The Paint Codes Thread! (european_rocc)

I have to dispell the belief that color name has anything to do with the actual color. I am an auto painter by trade and there seems to be a misconception that BMW, Porshce, VW, Toyota, or whatever "Alpine white" (or any other color) is the same based on name...I use alpine white because almost all manufacturers have an alpine white. Color codes are specific to manufacturer and year of production. as an example, toyota's most common white is "super white" (040 is the manufacturer code) but the formula for mixing an accurate match will vary based on year and model...sunflower yellow on a VW may be entirely different than sunflower yellow on a porsche...and may be entirely different from 76 to 78.

first thing need to correct is the paint code : L13K was offered in Canada. Which is part of the North America continent, but not part of the US.

That picture just makes so much sense now.
Anyway, I have an '80 in River Blue (if you really need the sticker I'll do gymnastics to get to it. Also, In North America anyway, we had Paprika Red and Helios Blue on Slegatos. Timo, wanna add them in?
