I'm thinking of going with the Neuspeed 60mm downpipe with a stock Catalytic converter and a Neuspeed Catback. I'm hoping this won't be too loud and still pass inspection. I hope I will have less of a chance of getting a CEL with this. What do you guys think?

I'd suggest using a highflow cat becasue if you use your stock one ur kinda deafeting the purpose of bigger DP if its guna run the exhaust right back to the stock Cat its guna slow it up again. highflow will still pass emissions no problem http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Not true at all.
You may not even pass visual inspection with an aftermarket dp. I don't know what the emissions and inspections laws are around you though.

up in Toronto Canada i have a 3inch DP to a highflow maganaflow cat to a 2.5 inch no resonator back to a maganflow muffler passed with flying colours.
i dont know how our emissions comapres to yours tho

In CA, DPs are not CARB exempt. You will immediately fail and be required to go to a REF if you try to smog the car with it on...same with high flow cats.
My 2.5" Eurosport DP + APR 91 didn't pass but I barely passed with stock programming (APR) and stock dp/cat.

You must not get around much. CA has some of the strictest air laws, if not THE worst.

For most people living in the US, it's common knowledge that CA has strict emissions standards. Most people are just happy knowning they don't have to deal with our bs.

i agreee... im currently running a 3inchDP to a 2.5 straight pack to the muffler, i had my exhuast modified a bit so that now i can interchange my cat and test pipe for emission testing purposes. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

well depending on your states regulations you could prolly get away with a 3inch DP to a 2.5 or 3 inch highflow cat back no resonator to a maganflow muffler. when i say 2.5 or 3 inch is becasue if you plan on modding your car with every bolt on or even BT then 3 inch is the way to go but if all u do is chip it then u dont need the 3 just stick with the 2.5 same witht he DP you can get awya a 2.5 no problem but if ur guna mod it or BT then 3 inch all the way

also the CEL can be fixed with an angle block that can be found on the Tex.
I have one on my GTI out side and i still pass emissions with no cat

And i live in Maryland and we have fairly strick emissions compared to somewhere like Flordia.
the angle block simply bolt on the the second 02 sensor

and then the 02 sensor screws back in problem sovled.....Unless you get put on the sniffer you will be fine, but ive never really seen anyone with our year cars get the sniffer either.
And like they said the stock CAT defeats the pourpose of gettin a DP.

A 2.5 inch dp, highflowcat, and a decent muffler shouldn't..... Usually though, you can just clear the codes before you roll into state inspection and still pass. http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
