the sleepin gti. mild build (standalone)
so just to introduce myself, my name is kodie everyone calls me pabst. im from the western side of PA and have been into vws for about 5 years ish, i kinda wanted to take this time to show ya a little bit about my life and what i do with my time... With that said. ive owned a couple VW's and finally got exactly what i wanted when i bought my mk3... this is my first big thread post so please work with me on this. in march 2011 i decided that i wanted to make my vrt full standalone. So with the help of a friend that graduated wyotech (RRIDER450), we took on the project. For the standalone i chose MS3 for hearing pretty decent feedback from a couple of people. i also wanted to get in and tuck some wires and get rid of the things i feel unnecessary. A short ways into the build we decided that coil on plug would be an interesting route to take on a 12v vrt over the traditional coil pack. ill throw some other pics in just to give everyone some ideas of how the rest of the car looks as well. so without further delay on to the pics.
thanks for looking
when i started takin shelby (thats what i call her, others call her the sleepin gti) i decided to go for one last rip around the block since the snow was off the roads and it wasnt raining or snowing at that moment
sorry for the blurry quality but heres a shot before we tore into the engine.
a shot of the 4" exhaust off the turbo with the old wrap.
unwrapped.
this was the point my heart dropped lol my buddy started cuttin and pullin and so on. he kept telling me not to worry lol. i will say that he did do a hell of a job by the end!
cant forget this of course.
my muffler, not that i ever use it but it can be vband'd on in minutes if it has to be.
my summer daily of course
my buddys car on the left is just one of the couple side projects i been helpin with since my car wont be going to kptuning until mid august.
so it got to the point that i couldnt take the car being filthy any longer and since the car currently doesnt run i pulled it around the yard with my blazer to where i could atleast get it rinsed off for the first time in month. once i got it back to the garage i had no other way to get it back in without pulling it with the bike :screwy:
theres more pictures to come, but im runnin kinda late. they will be up shortly.
special thanks goes to derek anderson (RRIDER450). and also my room mate Jason. my buddy jimmy (_muppet_). bruce (boardsnow6). shane (ValerieGLI) and a couple others that had a small hand in minor things and drinkin the beer :sly:
thanks for looking, and as i said ill keep updating as time goes on.
