now I just got a tial 38mm wastegate installed on my 944 turbo, along with a stainless steel exhaust.
it worked fine at first but then, all of the sudden it just started to oscillate the boost (between 10-22 psi quite fast)
we first thought it was the electronic boost controller but we bypassed it and ran the hose strait from the intake to the wastegate, and it still didn't work.
I wish this depicted me shifting gears, but it's all out floored and doing this:

here it is when it ran right in the beginning, but it boosted way too high (22 or so, when I usually run 18)

anyone have any suggestions?
the tial is installed correctly.
thanks!
edit:
the pics don't work so here's a link where they do:

Re: tial problem (theKid)

I have a tial 35mm wastegate and mine was doing the same thing. What kind of boost controler are u running? I'm runnin an apexi avcr and the only way i can trim that ocilation down is by turning my duty way down, but then it doesn't pull as hard. I still haven't figured it out. The only thing i can think of is a vacuum leek or something.
Suppose to be goin up on the dyno here soon so hopefully with this new turbo and some tuning we can fix this prob.

Possibility:
compressor surge....
(what I gather from the dyno and your 'test' with no boost controller)

Give us your turbo specs.

well the 944 guys think it might be intalled backwards.
I thought compressor surge was when you let off the throttle not while you're still on the throttle
I don't think my bov is bad.
I have a kkk 27/6 turbo
the ebc is a greddy profec e-01 but it was bypassed with the same results.

actually there are many cases of tial's being mounted backwards on the 951's.
how could compressor work?
remember that it's sitting on a dyno not getting ram air
(my radiator fans are stuck on though - electric)
