Germany’s Auto Bild has seen fit to bestow its All-wheel Drive Car of the Year 2017 award to Volkswagen’s new Tiguan in the under €30,000 category.

The Tiguan launched in Europe last year, growing in both space and power. It will be joined by the Tiguan Allspace (the lengthened version of the crossover that we’ll be seeing here) this year.

The people’s choice award was handed to VW last week at an even in Frankfurt, Germany. The Auto Bild trohpy will join Auto Motor und Sport’s in the trophy cabinet. That publication also saw fit to call the Up! one of its best cars of 2017.

The Golf Alltrack, meanwhile, was Canada’s car of the Year 2017, an award presented to VW at the Toronto Auto Show. The Detroit Auto Show, on the other hand, was I.D. Buzz’s show. It won a design award there.
