I have an Audi 4000 with the electric tilt and slide sunroof and I am looking for online tech articles on the swap. I looked in the Bentley for both cars and the design looks the same. Also, I measured and it is the same. I'm just looking for feedback from someone who has done this before. I did put it on eBay but if it don't sale I'll do it to my car (link in signature).

Re: Tilt & slide electric sunroof from Audi 4000 (Superman)

Not trying to be a D i c k here, just a little friendly advice. They usually go for about $40 at the local bone yard with everything. You might wanna try a lower price.

Re: Tilt & slide electric sunroof from Audi 4000 (Superman)

I did the electric conversion on my gti. I got lucky and found an audi with the same paint code as my gti so no painting was involved, I just polished the panel and paint matched just like factory. It's really easy to do the conversion once you modify the audi motor mount. The audi motor mount has to be drilled at the spot welds and used for the gti after a few modifications to fit it to the gti. Not a big feat to acomplish just takes time. I wish I had a shop so I could do it for a little money on the side. The whole sunroof assembly has to be put together off the car and installed just the way the gti assembly came out. Also you need the audi hardware. Screws and washers.
