New owner who’s car needs chains done.
I‘ve been poking around and looks like ECS is the place that has kits for timing chain, water pump/thermostat, clutch kit with flywheel/pressure plate (the clutch feels fine and I don’t know if it’s been done or not in the past 146k miles, but thought it should get done while it’s all apart) and associated hardware/gaskets/(rear main?) seals.
I have personally had some rocky experiences with ECS over the years (and know others who have too) and don’t typically shop there, but for ease of ordering everything without tons of hunting, it looks like they’re the way to go.
So wondering:
– Is there other places I should be looking?
– Are there any specific brands of parts I should stay away from (I don’t typically buy UroParts or most meyle parts but doesn’t look like there’s any of that in these kits).
– Anything else I should be doing while it’s apart?
Thanks for the advice and insights.
