I have a 98 passat with the tip tronic automatic transmission. I bought the car without the tiptronics working and I would like to fix it myself if I could. When I switch the shifter over into the tiptronic gear, nothing happens, the display doesnt even come up! If someone will help me it would be greatly appreciated. My thoughts are its something electronical (passat!) but ive never dealt with this type of tranny before and i dont want to tear into my car, not knowing what I'm looking for.
