Well, here is another semi-stupid question. I have heard from 2 different sources, 2 different things. First, that resonators quiet the exhaust and give it that deep, mellow tone AKA the fart pipe sound that suits Hondas so well. OR that resonators make it louder and give it that same fart pipe sound. Well, I HATE that moose fart sound. I also don't want an exhaust that is much louder than stock. Think "Sleeper" Corsa makes exhaust systems that sound great and don't uh..make that goofy burbling sound when you let up. They also only make them for American V8s

Re: To resonate or not to resonate? (Boge VR6)

Nice to see someone else who likes a quiet system http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif I'd just run stock exhaust meself, personally, I'd do cams and intake manifold on stock exhaust
(if you're a VR)

Re: To resonate or not to resonate? (LostBoyScout)

here bro...is a link to my exhaust sound, i have a supersprint exhaust on my 2.slow with a mid resonator, sorry its crap quality cause i park near a HUGE fan so it it's noisy...
anyways a TRUE resonator quiets the exhaust, fake resonators, well not fake, but the ones u hear about in really cheap hondas make it loud, just don't buy a resonator from a r1ce shop and you will be fine...

forget the link, its really bad, i just listened to it heh

Re: To resonate or not to resonate? (1996eurogti)

Thanks for the help, I talked to a local muffler shop and they confirmed that a GOOD resonator will quiet the sound. They also quoted me a good price on a system. $300 +tax installed.
Aluminized tubing 2-1/4"
1 resonator (the shop tech called it a de-farter)

1 Flowmaster 60 series Delta Flow. Will post sound after I get it installed.
The reason to get an exhaust is not to let the whole world know you have it, but to gain better performance. You should try it.
