my 1990 g60 has been sitting for about 1 1/2 months outside my dads house while my licence was suspended. I/ve got my licence back and had to get a new battery because the old one went, but now my passenger power window won't roll down. It clicks and stuff behind the door, I'm guessing this is where the relay is. Way before when I was driving my car that side of the car kept making clicking noises, etc. So I'm guessing this thing is toast. Anyone got tips for checking or replacing it?

Re: toasted window relay? (Nickswagen)

Mine did the same thing and it wasn't the controle box, I can't remember what the problem was but I could have swore that it was the pass. seatbelt! also does your car have a draw! mine was doing some crazy clicking and I replaced the pass door and the seatbelt system and it was fixed! I have an exra controle modual if you want it I will sell it for $30 thats what I pd for it, if thats the problem! Adam
P.S. I don't no how to check it!

Re: toasted window relay? (1993jetta GL)

I think that mine had a draw, and thats how my battery went dead, it must have been very small though but over a long period of time it started to fail me when it was cold out. Also I don't have power seat belts because I'm canadian (eh). I pushed down on the window today really hard while pushing the button and my window slid down, I guess it was just stuck. This still doesn't explain the relay problem with the clicking, so I might have to check the control box.

Re: toasted window relay? (SLC4ME)

its not the motor I don't think because it works now, but the window was just stuck from sitting there for so long, but the relay clicks sometimes while I'm driving, without me even touching the button.

What would cause both the windows to not work everynow and then? When not workin it doesnt matter what switch is used there both dead, no relays clickin, nothin. When workin they operate like their brand new
Car has a mind of its own...
