I went to a custom muffler shop during my lunch hour (3 actually with all the stops I made
- and had a Mid Pipe made to replace my resonator pipe - decided it would be easier and cheaper to have this done than to buy a TDI bypass pipe - and I was right - took the guy all of like 30 minutes - and cost me all of $60........and the sound is great with my Remus - where there was no real tone before, but I have a nice tone now - not annoying or even very loud - just enough to make me happy - but the sound of the air comming out - especially when chipped is friggin awesome!!!!!!!!! the turbo sound is magnified at least 100% - and it just great.....i think it will get a little louder as time goes on which is ok...
I will try to get a sound and or video/sound clip in the next day or 2 so I can post it - but IMHO - if you guys want a cool sounding system that isn't loud - try the Mid pipe/Remus setup - I like it a lot.....now I just have to do a DP and cat.....here are the before and after pics........

Looks pretty good. Do you have something welded to the pipe to make use of the rubber bracket in the middle of the cross support?
When i made mine, i welded a bar to the pipe (perpendicular to the pipe) so the bar would slide into the cross support thing.

well - the guy did weld something to the pipe to make it work with the support - not sure though - wasn't allowed in the shop - he actually took the pics for me......there is no vibration or any other noises to whatever he did worked........

well - i had the car chipped with no exhaust mods at all 1st - and I can say the remus and the mid pipe have made a decent difference from that - so I'd say you'd pick up a few hp or so - and get some better throttle response - basicially I have made my own cat back setup based around the remus muffler -
