Re: Tools for an oil change ??? (jaeone)

you'll need these things:
Those Oil pan things you put on the floor so the oil doesn't flood everywhere
TOOLS:
A Socket: 1/2" or 36mm (POWERBUILT BRAND)
Ratchet: with a 3/8" adapter for the socket (POWERBUILT BRAND)
The Combination of the socket and ratchet are used to take off the oil-filter
Wrench: 3/4"
The Wrench is to take off the oil-pan screw/plug
FYI: the oil-filter for the vr6 is not a usual filter..it looks like a small K & N air filter...
Bought all these things @ PEPBOYS!!
have any questions feel free to e-mail me @ [email protected]
Have FUN!!!

You'll need a torx bit to remove a plastic shroud on the bottom to access the filter.
Unless it's only on the 1.8t for some reason.
EDIT:
Umm.. duh, your oil filter may be in a different location. If it's on the front of the engine behind the radiator you'll need that torx. Sorry about that...
