The Canadian Press

Tuesday, July 01, 2008
TORONTO — Toyota Canada announced Tuesday it's lowering the manufacturer's suggested retail price on three Toyota and eight Lexus models.
The reductions will range from $1,350 for the RAV4 to $7,900 for the Lexus SC series and will apply regardless of whether the vehicle is leased or purchased, the company said in a news release.
"Today we are reducing the MSRP on the Toyota Prius, all Lexus hybrid models, and many other models that earn high marks for fuel efficiency and emissions performance, making it easier for Canadians to meet their transportation needs in a fuel-friendly, environmentally sensitive vehicle," said Stephen Beatty, Toyota Canada's managing director.
The new MSRPs for the 11 vehicles affected, with cost reductions in parentheses, are as follows:

2008 Prius hybrid: $27,600 ($1,900)
2008 Highlander: $34,900 ($2,000)
Lexus

I believe you also get like $6000 rebate from the government if you buy the Prius. So you can get a brand new prius for only $22k CAD.
That's a damn good deal considering that gas prices just increased in BC due to the new Carbon Tax.
Thumbs up for Toyota/Lexus!!!
