Tranny with short shifter in for service?

364 Views 4 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  hndaklr
For the past month my transmission has been grinding into second gear. So today was one of those days that it does it alot, and I had planed to bring it in and have it replaced. But I have the DieselGeek ss. So since I allready sent the parts back in for the core charge I don't have the stock shifter.
Plus when I was coming home I tried to put the car in first and I am LOCKED OUT of first
gear.
What should I do??? I just called my local dealer and they said to bring it in right away, they have a rental car waiting for me as I post this.
Will they not give me a new tranny because of my ss???

They'll diagnose the problem to the aftermarket short shifter and give you the bill, and probly charge you for the rental car. (or at least that's the typical information that I gathered so far.)
Find a stock shifter somewhere maybe from a Vortexer and install it then take it to the shop for warranty work. It never hurts to protect your investment/wallet.
