I'm having a problem with a 2012 golf gti. It starts and I hear a clicking coming from near the footwell/back of the steering well area, and the letters on the gear selector are flashing intermittently, and I can't put it into gear. I bypassed the transmission lever and manually put it into reverse to back out of drive and it only stays in gear for a few seconds before going back in neutral. Ran and drove fine yesterday. Only thing that changed was last night because I haven't been driving it very often I put it on a battery tender, a Black+Decker BM3B. What to y'all think? Would the tender have caused issues?
I scanned and I got
28775 - No Communication with Gear Selector Module U0103 - 000 - - Intermittent - MIL ON
00653 - Selector Lever/Auto Trans Plausibility 004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent
617736 - Selector Lever Park Position Lock Switch B1162 29 [009] - Signal Implausible
