You just recently had my tranny in and out, now I'm having trouble with the rear mount's bracket, threads are striped on one of the studs that holds the bracket to the body and won't hold a nut. Anybody got any ideas how I should deal with this?
Push comes to shove you grind off the stripped stud, drill the hole, apply a plate and a bolt throught the hole and rust prevention.
You might weld the bolt to the frame, by doing so you have recreated the OEM stud.
Remeber the stud needs more than your normal strengh, any old bolt from Ace Hardware wont do it.
I finally got around to working on my car today so I thought I'd give you an update. It's a 10mm stud so I tried a 10mm die, no go, so I used the next smallest die I had, a 3/8" NC die, that one worked perfectly http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif
