So I've got a 95 jetta, and am pulling the dash to fix a bunch of electrical things on it. Cruise, radio backlighting for guages, other misc. junk. I've got the bottom pieces out, all bolts removed so it wiggles a lot, but haven't been able to get 'er loose. what am i missing?
also, any heads up for problematic areas in wiring for these cars would be awesome.
thanks,
kyle

theres 2 screws that are on the back of your dash that go through the fire wall there right next to your wiper motor take those out and it should come right out http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

3 screws on the back side, 2 on drivers side I believe, one on passenger side.
Also, the wiring is placed neatly in clips on the back side of the dash that you will have to unclip in order to completely remove the dash.

cool, thanks guys.
Hey have any of you messed with the electrical systems on these cars? Mine is all messed up. Cruise doesn't work, guages don't work, radio doesn't work, few other misc. things... Any help in troubleshooting would be appreciated.
Also where do I find wiring diagrams for these cars?

Re: (sortastock)

Problems sounds familiar. I bought another jetta recently and it has been in an accident before. There are all sorts of electrical bugs with this thing. Cruise doesnt work, headlights turn off with the brake up 20% of the time, no ignition wire to radio, etc. I hope you checked all your fuses before you started ripping stuff apart tho. haha
..and the bulbs that light the gauges and dash accessories always burn out, so dont be too worried
