Well, it finally arrived. and it sure is pretty and the mandrel bends, ooh ahh.... I'll videotape the sound and post it after the install.

I decided to spray part of it , sorry the welds looked icky.

The tip coming out the rear side will still be pure stainless.

borla, its all but straight through when you look into it.:

ya and show pics of how it looks i thought my tt looked funny when installed... and the farthest back mount i could not get to fit straight it has a twist in the mount....
i had no problems putting mine in.. the hard part was taking the old one out...

will do, I hope it looks ok and I hope the old system comes off easily.....I can't remember if we put anti-seize on or not
the weather around D.C. has been in the mid 60s or so, a bit rainy, but the weekend is looking decent. I'm shooting for Saturday to try and start.....and hopefully finish. good luck on your install.

Is this the 2 1/4 one? If so how much did you pay for it? Iwas over at the Techtonics site and they got the Caddy Stainless steel exhaust listed at $200plus. If this is real I'm picking me up one.

if you have any problems getting it off just cut it off... that is what i wish i did... i would of had it done in like an hour that way..... it is a pain to get it past the axle...

the $200 is great. I've been running it on an A2 for months now, no problems at all.
Way better than the eurosport system!

SS is only resistant to corrosion when in contact with oxygen, so it can rust because of that paint..

verboten, damn I didn't know that. figures. I'll surf and read up on stainless steel and I'll see what i need to do. thx
drive79rabbit, this system lists for $490, its the stainless Borla for a 16v pickup. I'm doing some work for a business in exchange for the system.
MiCrO, crawled under today, removed the first clamp and then noticed several little welds at each of the connections. I don't have a torch to cut them, so I'll need to sort out a plan B.

time to bring out the handy sawzall or die grinder.... or even a dremill will work... i got mine out with it in one piece but i had no spare tire or gas tank....

Chris- I'm running the TT/Borla exhaust too, with their dual race downpipe.

didn't get a chance to finish it. "Honey do" list kicked into gear Sat. afternoon & Sunday. Looks like I'll mess with it Monday after filing for unemployment.

I'm not asking myself why I painted it. I'm detailing the underside of the pickup is detailed and I was attempting to spray it a complimentary color. The welds looked rough and I should have just sprayed those.
Well, its mounted. Spent $60 to have a local shop take care of it for me. It worked out well, I spent 4hrs at a meeting...came back it was ready.
Sounds great, its actually quieter than the previous system...good deep tone. I'll due an audio clip soon. The throttle response feels smoother. My initial conclusion is its the combo of the mandrel bends and Borla muffler vs. the previous system. It will be on the dyno this weekend so we'll see for sure if there is a measureable improvement.
