I don't like TT.

I had my TT exhaust installed, and the only thing I can say about it is that you deffinetly get what you pay for. To say that the TT exhaust is only performance orientated would be a major understatement. Brackets didn't fit right, it drones, it's ugly, custom brackets had to be fabricated, and the sound sucks a**.
Now I'm going to get the not yet released Supersprint dual cat exhaust the second it comes out, or Bug_Powers 3inch side exit, which ever comes first.
I had to pay for 3 hours of install time because the TT's hardware didn't fit well.
Let me first apologize to anyone who feels personally attacked by this post, but I had to post my experience with this particular exhaust system.

sounds real deep...but not drony at all
I really like the sound
it sounds differnt after it is on the car for a while
what muffler did you get with it?

I feel the vibrations from it all over. I'm really not fond of the sound.
Let me edit. I like the sound when it passes by, or from outside for the car, but on the inside, I'm really dissapointed.
What muffler did you get?

Everyone keep in mind what is not loud to one person is ear piercing to another. I personally HATE loud exhaust. What is loud to me? Anything much louder than stock is not acceptable. That being said I love the way my ABT sounds, or doesn't sound. All the TT exahust I have heard are very droney and way to loud for my taste. But others think that it sounds cool.

I'm sure that the side exit wouldn't be much better, but at least I would get the added benefit of a totally none restrictive exhaust on my car. The Supersprint wouldn't sound as harsh, and I would also get huge power gains. Any thoughts?

TechTonics has been tunning VW's for some time now and they have some great products >You are the first post i have ever read that stated you had fitment problems .Either you had a defective exhaust or you need to find a new muffler shop.Either way to post a tittle that states TT sucks is immature.We are all adults on this board

So I don't have a right to disslike a product? That's a new one. The exhaust is way to loud, and the brackets didn't fit properly at all. I guess it is immature to not be happy with paying for 3hours install time on a bolt on exhaust. You did read EC, they said that the exaust was 'spartan', and that the hardware or brackets were a little dated, I just happen to agree with them.

you have the right to disslike a product all day long but you post tittle is TT sucks .You think that that is a fair statement to make when you seem to be the only person who had so much trouble with the install.TT makes a loud exhaust that is common knowledge and any research on this forrum should have told you that .You should not have purchased a TT if you wanted a quite exhaust.My TT exhaust fits like a glove and sounds great.

Let's think about this one pal. I don't like loud exhausts, nor fittment problems, and the addition of a 3 hour labor charge to install an exhaust that should have been able to be installed in 1.
When I first decided to get the tt exhaust I called tt and asked them if the exhaust was quiet, they said yes. It's not quiet. I asked people about how good this exhaust was and I got replies from great to crap. Even European Car stated that the exhaust was understated, this is not the case though. My exhaust is loud, and it grumbles too much. Most likely because the tips aren't exposed.
From my perspective this exhaust sucks, and just to let you know pal, I'll post whatever I see fit as long as you don't take it personally when I judge a product that I own.

I have a TT exhaust as well. I must agree that fitment of the exhaust is tricky. But as for the exhaust being loud I don't think it is. I had the hidden tip on at first and that made it twice as loud. Get the exposed tip, it makes a world of difference. I'm having Andy from Upsolute come over and chip a couple of cars for me and some other people from around CT are getting it done as well. You are more than welcome to come and check out my car with the exposed tip and see if you like that better.
