turbo for a 2.0 8v A3

hello
I have a 1996 Vw jetta GL with the 2.0 in-line. I am 95% sure that I am going to buy the ATP turbo kit from http://8vturbo.com but i've been told i need to do some transmission modifications other then a sport clutch. I guess my question is with a 260 cam and the ATP turbo kit running at about 7psi will I need to make any other modifications to my tranny other then the clutch? if so what? Also with this set up how much horsepower to the wheels am i looking at?
Thanks for your time,
Neal

is anyone going to reply to this?
Re: turbo for a 2.0 8v A3 (NPS83)

From #'s that I heard I think w/ 7psi is about 150ish at the wheels, maybe someone can correct me if I am wrong, sorry I know nothing about the tranny.-Chris.

i don't think you need to do any tranny mods if your clutch, etc are in good condition. check with ATP and see what they recommend.

Re: turbo for a 2.0 8v A3 (fundub)

my friend is almost done his 96 jetta trek 2.0 T (i am getting my first ride tomorrow) it has fmic and a T3 turbo and whatever else...but he will be running 12 pds of boost until he has enough money to install his quaiffe

I blew up my differential and threw parts and fluid right out of the tranny case at only 6psi.
Might I suggest a Quaife?

well i just got my car back today, and my Clutch (Velocity 210mm disc, w/ 16v pressure plate) wouldn't grab after 4500rpm at 8.5 psi....
So im opting for another clutch....as for the diff/tranny, i still dont know what to do...im just reading all these testimonials from other people in this forum and hope to be lucky when i upgrade the tranny/diff.....

Re: turbo for a 2.0 8v A3 (Thorax_Embalmer)

Look at my user name
I can't get a tranny to last for more than a year and thats with a 70 shot that I rarely use. The rest of my turbo stuff is supposed to be in next week, after thats in my next concern is getting a quaife. In my opinion a Quaife is just as important in a turbo setup as a blow off valve or an intercooler.
