How come no one has designed a turbo kit for the VR6 that uses the same turbo from the 1.8T. I think it would work well. Its small easy to install, has high avaliability, not that expensive and perfect for lower boost applications. Imagine running 6-8lbs, that should get you in the 230-250hp bracket... That would be awesome!!!

you are not thinking properly.. use the 1.8t turbo? turbo manifold?? i think you are realllyyyyyyy confused .. did you forget one is a 4 cyl and the other is a 6 cyl hahahaha

Uh, what do you mean by "kit"? You can use the turbo from a 1.8T, and guess what, lots of people do! Well the same size turbo anyway.. but obviously nothing else is going to bolt up except for the turbo, as Stealth pointed out...

why nobody produce some manifold for our 2.0 that fits the K03? since so many of the 1.8T owners have upgrade to K04 or others....
do u think there will be a demand for that?

I think he just means basicly a manifold with mounting points for a K03. As far as I know you are going to spend about the same on a used T3 or 4 as you would on a K03, so there is really no point, especially considering most VR6'ers would want a bigger turbo than that.

I'm sorry, I should clarify a few things....what I meant was to simply use the KKK turbo (as LostBoyScout mentioned). As jasonyates interated, alot of people upgrade to the larger turbo. In addition, with the popularity of the 1.8T there should be plenty of KKK turbos.
STEALTHDEMONDUB you should have a little more sense as to think that I would want to bolt up 1.8T manifold to a VR6.

Anyways, who supplies parts for KKK turbo install (assuming that I could get a K03 turbo cheap)?

I know it's possible because the S4 uses the K03, just there are two of them. You would be better off going with a premade kit from matrix or someone like them. I haven't heard good things about EIP but thats my whiny friends. I was thinking of using the turbo off my friends A4 when he upgrades but I think its going on a 2.0 16v in my GTI

The stock turbo off the 1.8T's is tiny. No point in using that on a VR6. People are swapping them out of their 1.8Ts for a reason. Go with something different than the the stock 1.8T turbo.

You can not just use a KKK K03 Turbo on a VR6. There is much more to turboing a car than just bolting on a Turbo and calling it a day.
