Turbo messed up in race

i was running the quarter mile the other day in my apr chipped 1.8t Gti 2000, and i was next to my friends 2.5 rs with a bunch of mods... and well we were side by side going into third and we both know mine will pull in 3rd so i was just about to pull ahead and take off when i got to about 4300 rpms my turbo jolted and then dropped off back to 3000 rpms... so i got screwed. But later i ran my car through same set of rpms and it was all good.... so what happened and how can i fix it?

probably limp mode. the car boosts too high and the computer freaks out and pulls back boost. no realistic way to get around it.
also do you have ASR on? make sure its off for racing.

sounds like you hit mad limp mode y0 better check yoself befo you wreck yoself
btw if you know you can "pull" on your friend going side by side in third gear, when you go and punch it (cause you know you weren't cruising in 3rd on the drag strip), dont.
BTW if your turbo is only going 3000rpms you're in mad trouble

connect a VAG-COM, take some logs of timing and boost, and post them on the forum if you are having a hard time analyzing them yourself .. some good Vortexers can offer some quality advice to help you out
