I'm about to install a crank pulley for a friend and my question is (since I've never touched a 1.8T before): Does the original belt work with this pulley?
And it looks like its only allen bolts that hold the pulley on to crank...is this true?

Don't they include a bracket because you have to move something so you can use the stock belt?

I dont know about that...the intructions on turn2's web page just show the pulley....looks like a simple install. Anyone else?

It's a straight bolt on. No brackets or other doodads to deal with.

yeah its just the allen bolts.... but you might need to dremel the dust cover behind it cause the hub is slightly larger than the stockie. check it first to see if it fits otherwise you will hear the rubbing and see the little aluminum snowflakes from the pulley.

i just talked to turn2, that problem is solved, so nothing to worry about, just the 4 allen boolts, and a pair of vise grips to de-tensoin the tension wheel.

Alright...well its in. Had to dremel the lower timing belt cover but one thing I dont like it the fact that it stripped one bolt on the timing sprocket. And yes I did torque it to the recommened spec on the install instuctions...the downfall to that is the Turn2 pulley it 3 or 4 times thicker then the OEM pulley which leaves only a certain amount of threads for the bolts to tighten. So what I did was I found longer bolts that are all the same and that didn't hit anything in the back of the pulley and used those. I think Turn2 should send out some longer bolts with that pulley. Its good now and I torqued it down to the specs. Just sucks on my friends part....and it pulled just about 4 threads right out of hte sprocket.

Yea..well I try. Still haven't finished my car LOL....doing that tonight.
