Re: (zyklon)

hey I understand....i have been looking for months now..went to the dealer today and he just fixed a dvd player, then went for a test drive and the damn thing was running all the time....he said that he got an update from his buddy and VW (the owner not the shop), but refused to share or reveal the name of the fellow.
So I guess the way is through VW itself.

Re: Tv/DvD (Thanandon)

You should not be watching dvds while driving, you should be driving while driving. Isn't there enough distraction already?

It's impractical anyway, you would have to sit in the middle of the seat and still could barely see it.

I have to agree with S4. The better solution is a stand-alone unit just for the back seats or monitors in the headrest if you want to get fancy. Besides, your wife is an adult, she should be able to keep her patience on a long trip and be a good co-pilot by navigating, or keeping you awake.

This would be great if someone actually had "the fix" software. I would like to have a noninvasive solution to entertainment for passengers. Right now we play movies on long trip on a laptop; however the sound is hard to hear since the laptop volume doesn't go that loud.

Do you have the laptop plugged into the AUX adapter? I recently used my laptop for exactly this and when plugged into the AUX source, it was plenty loud. the Touareg speakers are pretty good at being a home theater!

Re: Tv/DvD (aircooled)

Try this 'Arkon SF250 SoundFeeder Digital Wireless Audio Adaptor' for laptops
Just connect SoundFeeder to any sound card or portable audio device, then connect the USB power cord to your computer (or use 2 x AAA batteries, not included). Select one of 8 possible unused channels (88.1, 88.3, 88.5, 88.7 and 107.1, 107.3, 107.5 + 107.7) on your FM radio where no station is broadcasting and tune in SoundFeeder.

Re: Tv/DvD (aircooled)

AC,
Excellent idea. I am going to be offering some new options for connectors. I already offer the female 1/8" plug that you can put into the panel below the nav unit. Soon I will offer that with the A/V plug on the other end for those who do not want to mess around with inserting the contacts into the back of the radio.
