Upgrade complete and dyno results are in! Time for some more.

So Ny_fam sent me a ported intake manifold and I just finished the 'after' of the 'before and after' dynos.
Before installation:

and after:

Total 6hp and 1 ft/lb of torque gain! Not bad for a 20 minute bolt-on item. That means that I'm now getting to the wheels what this US spec gti motor(its a swap from my 1.6 to the 1.8) got to the crank. I've overcome all my drivetrain loss!
If you look at the second dyno you'll see that I had the do the run twice. The first run in in blue and I didn't gun it from the get-go (you can see the difference in curve right at the beginning).
To boot, the guy didn't put the fans on the car for the first run and I ended up overflowing coolant onto the floor. Its like these old cars were designed to me moving when they are at full load at 7000rpm
And the guy made some smart-alec remark about usually dealing with cooling systems that worked...it obviously works! The car is 26 years old with the original cooling system for crying in my beer! Anyway...just ranting. Don't like it when people bad-talk my car.
So now time for a good tune-up...

Air Filter
Fuel filter
Bosch wire set
full synthetic oil and new oil filter (not shown)
injector seats (currently running non-shrouded injectors in shrouded injector seats...a little loose)
all new (brand new that is) bushing and shift linkages
And for fun for the upcoming Mt. St. Helens cruise...

"Not recommended for use on Honda vehicles"

Lastly for those of you who don't know my car...

and the obligatory Lama pic...

Nice. But you did a round light swap and a put on euro bumpers. still, I love it. Now keep that pinstripe. don't see those so often anymore.

Yeah that looks like it will be a fun one to install. I love my cruise control....my foot.

I got it but don't use it ever.

I've installed 2 of them in various cars and they have both worked without a flaw... one of them is spliced into a factory mk3 switch to replace hte POS they came with stock

Pretty sweet frank
How much does that place charge for dyno runs?
I need to do a before and after on my car. Before being the decrepit state its in now and after when/if everything is fixed or restored.

I'll give it a try. I'm a pretty good mechanic and getting better every day. Hopefully all will go well.
So the dynos cost $50 for the first run (to cover loading and tying down) and $10 for each additional run. This is over at Turbo Technologies in Tacoma. However, Max RPM in Bremerton is opening their dyno very soon so you may consider going there. They told me they would probably charge $100-150 for three runs with wideband O2 sensor and fuel mix adjustment.
For lowering my rabbit? Well Ok...like I said before. I do need very stiff (really stiff) lowering springs though and because it isn't the highest thing on my list they would have to be for an exceptional price for me to do that immediately. So does anyone have a set of really stiff lowering mk1 springs they want to give/cheaply sell me? I figure I can buy the new struts fairly cheaply.
