Re: upgrading braking (ruderacer)

what size are your brakes now? If they are 10.1" then all you would need is the carrier bracket. Your calipers and pads will work, but need rotors.

i actually think they r 9.4's and my mechanic told me see if i can get the 11's from a g60 and my stopping will be on point http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif

Re: upgrading braking (ruderacer)

if you have 9.4" you need a 10.1 or 11 hub assembly from a later 89-92 GLI or G60 or 90(?)-92 16v gti

No NA spec GTI came with the 10.1" fronts. 10/88+ GLIs did as well as A3s and B3s.

The 10.1" and 11" calipers are different and unfortunately he has an 8V GTI with 9.4" rotors so he needs the whole setup.

The only thing different is the carrier, not the caliper. That is why g60, 10.1 and 11" vr6 brake pads are all the same shape.
