Hey guys, my stock fender sound& nav system says it’s up to the date but doesn’t have new roads anywhere. I went out and bought a newer vw deck, from a different model. 2/5 of the wires don’t match but the 3 others work just fine. The originally deck model code is “3C0 035 684 N” the new one came out of a 2016 Jetta GLI and the updated nav system’s model code is “5C0 035 684”. I’m completely new to changing electronics in cars and just assumed that since they were both vw parts, and exact same size, that they would work. Is there any modifications I can do or wiring adapters that I can buy?

So you put a new radio in your pass at correct? You went from an older model radio to a newer one?..

And when you say you changed the deck do you mean you changed the part in the glove compartment (separate from radio in middle dash) or you changed the deck (whole radio in center of the car)?

oh man, i suck at answering. so i bought a newer style, found a wiring harness/adapter from eurozonetuning.com and now have to do some hacking or editing to the computer to unlock it.
