UPsolute, APR, GIAC.. has anyone experianced all 3?

Or 2?... Comments, praises, etc...
I just don't know which to choose. I'm an aggresive driver, but I do know what's bad for the car and never exaggerate. The car will never see the race track and I do 500 miles a week. What do you all recommend? [ 2001 Jetta 1.8T AWD ]
Search sucks.. so don't flame please.

Here's what I've heard.
APR has been described as a very strong extension of the stock program.
GIAC is the most aggressive, performance chip you can buy. (hence 1.1 bar...)
UP is best bang for the buck.
Ask yourself if you need switchable programs. If you say yes (which you should) then APR is your answer.
Otherwise, go with whoever's closest.

I've experienced both. I have the APR myself, and love it, and just like the other guy said, it's not as aggressive as the GIAC (which I like a lot too), but it has more functionality to it. You can opt for the "extra programs", like "stock mode", "octane specific", which bumps the hp and torque a bit more if you decided to spend an extra couple hundred for the programs. APR is smooth in its delivery. GIAC you can really feel, it has a nice punch. If I could redo my chip, it would probably be with a GIAC. But honestly, you can't go wrong with either one.

I have been in all three, but not all were the same engine code.
The GIAC was AWW v4 which snapped your head back HARD and seemd difficult to drive smoothly w/o really working the clutch and throttle. The APR (which I went with) was an AWD v1.0, but was buttery smooth and still VERY powerful. I have the AWW 93 octane APR and it is still buttery smooth but has a much better top end than the AWD APR (hence the higher HP numbers). I had a ride in an AWD Up'd GTi that was pretty smooth (not as nice as the APR) and pulled well, but you could tell there was less power overall.

Email ChrisG...check in the NB forums.
He has ECU's with all 3 and has run/dynoed them all.

hey...do a search of neojettas posts....he did the best upsolute vs giac post ever. supported by dyno graphs and all. very very informative. you should check it out if you're thinking of either. although it was for a vr6...but still i think you can prolly get a feel for what the tuning companys chips are about.

I've experienced GIAC and Upsolute. I have an Upsolute in my car....the price and the availability of a local rep were the deciding factors for me. I dyno'd the car and it put out 205 hp at the crank on an AWD motor....I was very impressed, since I was told to expect about 192-195.
The Upsolute chip is much smoother than the GIAC chip (in my opinion). There's definitely a little more power in the GIAC chip, but I preferred the delivery of the UP chip. It seemed like there was a little less lag before the power came on, but it didn't hit quite as hard.
If you're interested in getting an Up chip, I believe that there is a NJ rep....I'm not sure what his name is, but he's on the Vortex.

I've talked to him.. his name is John Achille. Good info guys.
