I am in the middle of pulling of the oil pan to change a leaky gasket. BUT, I noticed there are no 5MM cap head bolts at all on the tranny side. Looks like the gasket has holes for bolts all the way around tho. What's up? Are there missing bolts? Are the bolts out of reach? Checked the Bentley diagram, but still no clue. TIA!

Re: URGENT ? RE: oil pan gasket. HELP!!!!!! (rocket vr6)

There is a cover on the bottom of the bellhousing that has two bolts holding it on...take those off and drop the cover. The remaining bolts for the oipan and underneath. HTH
edit: You might have to get a screwdriver inbetween the pan and the block to beak the pan loose

Got it done finally.
Only thing, I torqued the bolts to 11 ft lbs per the Bentley manual. Isn't that low? My friend wanted to crank them all tight. If I have to I'll get back under there and re-torque them.
