i know that while a new car has that oh so good smell...better than the dinner bell ringing, a used car is better because the depreciation off a lease or buy was paid by someone else...I felt real good knowing that the first 6 to 8 months of my 2000 GLX Beetle were the price of driving it off the lot...I've been doing some research and test drove the new 2002 GTi...While it drive like a champ, although a bit quiet for me, my wife's ultimate dream is the TT. It's been a few years since the introduction of the model and I was wondering if a 2000 TT around $25k is good and also a 2001 quattro 5 speed for around $30k is reasonable. Any takers? Can't go home until the TT sits in the garage and a shopping spree is given to my wife...Married can be real expensive but at least we have each other....By the way, is there a price difference for the baseball stitched interiors for the TT?

Re: used TT off a lease expected price (Jeff43)

hey i just found a 2000 180 Q blue/blue has all the goodies $24,500!!! now heres the catch 41k miles..
or
you tell me.
i plan on putting $10k down at a 6.25%- payment is $317. the car is awesome, from a dealer so they are giving me the warranty to 100K miles, and yes the down is too big "pretty stupid" maybe, but the TT will be in the garage. Besides i sold my 2000vr6 and got the down from there!!!!

Re: used TT off a lease expected price (mike420ic)

my guess is you can find one with lower miles for about the same price...do a search on http://www.autotrader.com and see what's in your area...i found one by me that has 20,800 miles and the asking price is $26,500...some negotiating should get that down to the $24,500 range...mark up on used cars is large, so usually they have some wiggle room...good luck

180 FWD's are in the $24-25K range. Q's up to $30K. TTQR's are still above $30K, like to $34K

Amber Red/Baseball stiching seats and other interior trim, were a $1K option.
Expect to pay more for it, yes.
Only the roadster has it, unless you come across a 2000 model Nieman-Marcus 180 FWD coupe. They made 100 of 'em, in Nimbus Gray, *chromed* forged alloys, amber red.
