What im dealing with here is a damaged clamp. Normally, i would just grab a spare or order one from ATP or PAG or something. But this vband isnt what i would call typical. the 'vs' arent as thick as ones like we are used to seeing, but the angles are the same. there is a washer ab. 3/16" thick between the v's. So if i remove the washer and use a typical clamp then it wont tighten up because the assembly isnt wide enough for the clamp. and if i try to put a typical clamp on, it wont fit; as it isnt wide enough to accomodate the washer.
the brand name is nelson. it is marked DIV 89500.
I know that i can source one from Canada, but i dont know of a US supplier and i need this thing before friday

any help you guys may have would be appreciated.

Unfortunately not. the car is in the paint booth right now

But imagine a thick washer sandwiched between the mating surfaces. Seems somewhat senseless to me, but it worked as it should before the damage occured.. so who knows lol

I have V-band mild steel gaskets made 1/8" thk if that would help. Just wish I knew what you were exactly dealing with.

to place between the mating faces? if so, where do you source the wider clamps for them?

i have soft copper gaskets i use, that are about 1.5mm thick, and fit in a standard v-band. ask 1quickdub how well they work.

haha, not only that... my masta machinist ass spun down a thinner washer to be used in conjunction with gaskets. but unlike some, i dont need to post about every good thing i do lol

silvercar fixed this issue using a clamp off a cummins V903.
