is that the thingie in front of the wheel on the drivers side?
if so I'd pull the wheel/ fender liner

this is the pump at operates the locks, located in the trunk compartment.

It's pretty easy, one wiring harness and one tube connect to it. See your Bentley shop manual if you need further assistance but you shouldn't.

The one in front of the wheel on the drivers side is part of the cruise control system. It helps to regulate a speed by keeping a vacuum. (more or less)
I need a Vacuum Supply Pump, where did you get yours? Mine doesnt work anymore...

Try Ebay, I just got one for $50. Does anyone know where this is located in a 97 Jetta? I must be blind, I can't find it

Right side quarter panel, behind gas door, above trunk floor, in front of tail light, behind trim panel
