V10 TDI - 4920 cmc, 313 bph, 750 Nm:
VW D1 - summer 2002
VW's SUV ( MAC or MAX or....) - January 2003
W12 - 5998 cmc, 420 bph, 550 Nm:
Audi A8 - Oct. 2002
Bentley - 2003
VW D1 - summer 2002
VW's SUV ( MAC or MAX or....) - January 2003
VW W12 ( but with 600 bph insted of 420 bhp) - 2004
Engines for D1:
Summer 2002:
VR6 - 3198 cmc, 241 bph, 315 Nm
W12 - 5998 cmc, 420 bph, 550 Nm
V10 TDI - 4920 cmc, 313 bph, 750 Nm
Fall 2002 / Spring 2003:
W8 - 4l, 290 bph
V6 TDI - 2.5 l, 180 bph ( actually this engine it's on Audi A6 Allroad along with 2.7 biturbo)
V8 TDI - 4l, 250 bph

Latest names proposed for D1:
Atrio, Meran, Palladium, Monolith
Official release date for D1: December, 11, 2001
D1 will become the official car of german chancellor Gerhard Schroder ( instead of the actual Audi A8).

The new issue of CAR reports that the D1 may receive one of several recycled Maserati "wind" monikers, such as Mistral, or, as I've advocated several times here in the forums as my fave, Khamsin.
Monolith??? ICK.

I remember when I mentioned the name "Prince" being a good one for the luxury car, some people made fun of it and said that it would be renamed "The Car Formerly Known As..."

(referring to Prince, the singer)
