06 GLI need some VAG - Com work especially when I recieve the EURO taillights I have ordered. Anyone in the Central Texas area????
A couple of questions however on the requirments to make these lights work correctly and get the AMBER light working once installed.
1) Do you require VAG-COM programming to make these lights work correctly?
2) Do you need to replace current OEM Light switch to a EURO Switch?

Re: VAG-COM capabilites in AUSTIN, TEXAS - Euro rear lights - 06 GLI (355890)

Can you walk me thru the process from scratch. I have found someone that has indciated that I can use his VAG COM here in AUSTIN. However he does not know how to operate it for the feature that I am looking for.
I just need to know what to do from the moment I plug in and the steps I need to do as I get these lights (including fog and amber) to work correctly.
I spoke with someone over the phone today and they indciate to me that ever car is different and therefore the codes would be different, but I'm not convinced that this is true.
I am going to need very specific step by step instructions if I hope to make these EURO lights work with fog and amber.
I would sure appreciate your help
