VAG-COM, Hidden features?

6214 Views 23 Replies 14 Participants Last post by  Jason_R
I was looking around at information about VAG-COMS and came across some information on how to change some values on audis with a VAG-COM to control the windows with the remote, etc. Does anyone know if anything similar can be done with Jetta/Golf/Gti IV's?. This is where i saw it : http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec13.shtml

I am also interested in having the doors unlock when i remove the key from the ignition. I know this is possable. Saw it in a post a while back, but no instructions where given.

Yah, Ive read you can do that, I dont know how either
Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (Godlike)

i heard it's possible with a vag-com. why doesn't someone email ross-tech and ask??
Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (spaceman_spiff)

The VAG-COM cannot do this. The MKIV Golf's Jetta's or GTI's do not have the same comfort control systems as Audi's do.
You can only control the windows with the remote with a aftermarket product called Alientech. http://www.alientech.net/index.html
Or Volkswindow.

You can do this....
I had it done at the dealer....
So the vag can do it.
Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (Mackie-1604)

Vag com cannot do the windows on VW's however it can unlock your doors when you remove your key from the ignition

You can do which part Mackie?
VW doesn't have the same comfort control system as Audi does. So the features are not there to do the window part.

Thats what I said in the second post of this thread.
VAG-COM procedure for unlock all on key removal.
This works for cars with 4 doors
Goto into module 46
Recode to from 04096 to 04097 or from 04098 to 04099 (1st is reg seats, 2nd pwr seats)
Adapt channel 4 from 0 to 1
Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (EPilot)

is there a web site that has a list of vagcom codes for the mkiv?
if not how do you find these codes?
Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (bwan)

Anyone ever heard of bentley manual? Anything you want to try and do can be found in there.

Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (Jolf)

not in the bentley i have... it just has some dtc codes (not all of them, unfortunately) most of the time for configuration, it tells you to go to a dealer.

Not exactly. I can't find what the blocks in engine display group 026 mean and what's in spec or out of spec.

Actually, that site gives you engine display groups only, not instrumentation, brakes, radio, etc.
Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (JettaRed)

has anyone ever bought the books that vw puts out to service their cars?
http://www.vw.ddsltd.com/
look it up under "maintenance manuals"
i wonder if those are the real mccoy...
Re: VAG-COM, Hidden features? (spaceman_spiff)

Why does VW have a tsb to install floor mats. How hard can it be to put floor mats in? Yes this looks like real VW manuals. Notice the 2.00 for a sheet of paper.
