I went out to eat with my mom, grandma, aunt, gf, sisters, etc...and we ended up out on City Island (Bronx, for those of you that don't know)...the slammin seafood spot.
Anyway I roll up in front of the restaurant my fam had picked to eat at and what do I see...I see a sign that says "Valet Parking - Please stop here". Being the Corrado owner that I am, I proceed to drive past the sign about 3/4 into the road that leads into the parking lot. A parking attendant comes running out of nowhere and says, "please stop. Leave your keys in the vehicle and come out with your hands up"...
...nah just kidding
...he really said "please stop, leave the keys in the car and we'll take care of it".
Now here is the problem. My car has an alarm, cut off switch, and starts up pretty weird...only I know how to start it not to mention I'm already pissed as hell because they have to valet my car. I let my gf and my lil sis out the car and I tell the guy, "yo, you're not going to be able to start my car when I come back to pick it up, so I'll be back in the parking lot to come get it". I knew 100% that he wouldn't be able to start my car because I didn't tell him about the alarm, switch, or anything else. He was in such a rush to take my car that he didn't wanna hear anything so I said to myself, Ok, he wants to be big man, let him be. As I was walking away I said no, wait a minute, let me watch this guy drive my car and park it. I stood there and watched him park my car...
He went to put the car into 1st gear and put it in REVERSE. He took off and the car went backward for 2-3 feet. I said to myself, here we go...
The guy gets it right this time
and goes into 1st gear and drives my car about 25 feet, then reverses into a parking spot.
I was pretty fortunate that he parked my car right next to the table my family was seated at but I wasn't giving that idiot a tip, that's for sure.
Ok, we eat, and its time to leave the restaurant. Meanwhile, I'm thinking to myself, "this idiot isn't going to be able to start my car". My mother goes up to the guy and give him her ticket so he can go get her 360 modena for her. (jk, jeep grand cherokee
). She knows that the guy isn't going to be able to start my car on his own so she tells him "Sir, you might need help starting the car from my son". The guy is walking fast-paced and just nods his head up and down as if he knows everything. He comes back with her jeep, fine. He goes to get my car, and I'm waiting for it in the front of the restaurant by now...but I'm looking down the alley leading to the parking lot, only to see him come out and call me to go start my own car.
So yea, what happens, YES...just as I predicted...the idiot couldn't start my car and came out of the parking lot and signaled me to come over. I walked back there with my gf, all the while letting her know how dumb this guy was, and I go start up my car in one shot.
I proceed to leave the restaurant and wudduyaknow...the $5 never came out my pocket for the dude. To recap, he didn't listen to me, he grinded reverse, and put it in reverse when he meant to put it in 1st gear.
What a tool.
Lesson learned...I'm not letting ANYONE valet my car for as long as I live. That was the first and the LAST time. Hey he valeted it for 25 feet but I don't give a sht
.
Here's a pic of my car next to our table, safe and sound
