value of corrado dash install?

What would you be willing to pay to drop off your car, have it installed w/ corrado guages, fully functioning vents, etc.
$200, $300, $400, more???
It's a pain in the a$$, but what is it worth to you??

I have heard it's a real PITA I'd be willing to pay what it costs, mine came with my car I was lucky. Dave

Am I the only one that thinks that A2 dash is better looking then Passat/Corrado? I think that Passat gauges look good but even if the dash is better looking it's not better enough to be worth the work. If you do engine swap and you have to, that's different.

Myself as well. RPI charged the prev owner 40hrs labour alone to get it all in and working PERFECTLY.

its one of those things that is cool if it has it, and ok if it doesnt

I onced asked a local shop and they quoted me at $1800cdn for just the dash, and if I wanted the center console, shifter surround, etc. and rear seat it would cost like $2500cdn
not worth it if you're paying for it, but if you do it yourself its worth it

I've got one (the pic), but would consider doing another. I didn't think it was that hard, but I cut a corner or 2 that I'm sure a real shop wouldn't...I hope.

It's not that incredibly hard, but it's definitely NOT EASY. Very time consuming if you want it done correctly. If I had enough time where I could work on the dash all day and night long with all of the supplies needed, I'd say it's AT LEAST a 40 hour job. If you want a hack job quickie, I could do that in about a day. But who wants a non-functional, rattling dash that looks just ok on the outside?

So I guess I'm saying at least 40hrs x $70 = $2800. That's about the going hourly rate at most REPUTABLE shops.

I'm on your side too. I think that the GTI dash fits the look and style of my car better than the Corrado dash. I guess I would have to drive a GTI with a Corrado dash to be sold on them. Still not worth the effort and money IMO.

Yup. I used the C heater box and carpet, so I figured I might as well use the floor vents, too. I think it's cool.

I've seen ones that were done really well (88JETTEXTREME is the one that i saw that is awesome) and i have seen really crappy ones (a silver GTI in San Francisco). It is sweet if it is done right, and not worth a **** if it is not.
