where can i get replacement material for redoing my vapor barrier? is there a certain type of plastic sheeting that i should use? and would a clear sylicone(sp) work to seal it around the door?
also, when im on the freeway i get more noise from the wind then i feel i should.. shouldi replace the door seals? anything else? or should i just expect this from a 16 year old car?

so pretty much anything plastic and big enough to cover ther hole.
but can anyone answer my second question, about the noisy cabin?

compared to modern cars, yes, it's noisy. Make sure your door seals are not rotten away. That's about all you can do for wind noise.

Wind noise/drafts has 4 possible sources
Deformed or torn weatherstrip
Misaligned door stationed too far outward and thus not getting the 30-50% compression reccommended by manufacturer
Damaged Belt moulding
No vapour barrier
Fix/inspect one at a time.
