Very strange fuel leak, help! I dont want to burn up!

I just put in a 3.5bar fpr last week, i have had the car out probably 10-15 seperate trips since then- on two of these trips (both under 3 miles) as I was coming to a stop to reach my destination I got the strong smell of gas, opened the hood, and found the fuel rail covered in fuel.
In both instances I waited for it to evaporate and then drove back home. Then, in both instances during the trip I had no gas smell whatsoever and when I got back home I opened the hood and everything was still bone dry

I dont think it is the fpr itself because that is always dry, and the TOP of the fuel rail is covered in gas.. physics would say the fuel would leak down. What is the hose that is just to the right of the fpr going into the top of the fuel rail? It appears that it *could* be coming from there, but I cant be sure because whenever I have the hood open nothing leaks. In addition, that hose seems very tight and well-clamped.
Does anyone have any other suggestions of things to check, Or any idea why this has only happened twice out of a dozen or more trips and 150+ miles?? Again, the only 2 instances it has happened were very short trips, and both times it was when I was slowing down + coming to a stop. ( I drive with the blower on all the time)

my bet is on that hose you mentioned. mine was fairly crusty on the end and had a gear clamp holding it on. i noticed a spot of moisture if i'd wiggle it a little. so.. i hacked off the end of the hose (maybe a half inch) and clamped it down with a proper fuel injector clamp.

I second that. seems to happen to me about once a month.

hmm it did take a lot of abuse getting moved around when the fpr was being installed.. maybe something got loosened up... perhaps it only leaks on short trips because it's cold and hasnt expanded to make a good seal?... sounds like thats a place to start anyway.
thanks for the tip.. does anyone else have suggestions/explanations?

i suggest that when you pull the hose off to fix it, and gas pisses out, that you have an old rag ready (and i don't mean the old lady)

i have the exact same leak and will just replace the crap clamps and the hose (if it looks to bad). take out the fuel pump relay and run the car till it dies, that way you depressurize the fuel system and you won't have a fuel spray to contain when unplugging the hose.

I had a leak like this on a hose on the driver side of the fuel rail (opposite side from the FPR). Take a look at your hoses and clamps when you first start it up in the morning. In my case this was the only time it leaked.
