Been finding my self obsessing over vintage Ferrari's for the past while, just thought id share some pics with you guys.
To start the 250 GTO. They cost 26,000 when they where made and there where 39 made in total 40 including the prototype by Pininfarina. This car is the original supercar imo. It was made to be a car that the owner could drive the the race track then drive back home at the end of the day.

ill add more later. Feel free to add also.

While I love the 250 GTO, that second collection of pictures really gets me. Showing the actual sheet metal work and fabrication in general that goes on 'behind the scenes' in a manner of speaking. Nothing short of spectacular.
And color me insanely jealous of this kid.

Talk about a *hell* of a chance to learn metal work in a shop like that.
Thanks for the post, made my night.
edit: I still can't get over how awesome it is that Life opened up their photo archives to google. BIG http://****************.com/smile/emthup.gif to them.

the first two pics above are of a 166 SC
here are some pics of a guy over on F-Chats. Its the oldest existing Ferrari that hasn't been dismantlement and parts used in other cars.

here it is with his P3 infront of Pininfarina headquarters

I believe its the same man who created the P3/4 car based on an enzo

Re: FV-QR (mavric_ac)

I happened to get behind this car on the way out of Moroso at Cavallino a few years ago. A lot of the guys drive their cars from the track back to the Breakers and he happened to be in front of me when the stereotypical chick-in-SUV-on-cell-phone changed lanes into him and almost took him out. Luckily the guy got out of the way... I couldn't help but think the only thing that could possibly make up for trashing a car like that would be her facial expression when her insurance company informs her that her $300,000 policy is about $19,700,000 short, so they'll have to garnish her wages until it's paid for.

Re: FV-QR (Robin)

The 57' 250 TR that just sold is simply perfection. The lines of the body, and even the color selection make it seem to be one of the finest Ferrari's ever built.

166 Barchetta

62' 330 (Le-mans spec.)

1967 330 P4 (Le-mans spec.)

500 Superfast

Just to name a few.

Some veeeery nice pics in this thread. I must admit though that my inner mullet had me clicking here to see some old Camaros & Firebirds

My favorite old F is definitely this:

I do not really know enough about Ferraris, but I have always loved this car. I had an old BBurago kit of one back in the 80's that made an impression on me I guess!
