For auto manufacturers, the winter signifies an increase in cold weather testing, putting their upcoming models through conditions unimaginable to most.  The north of Sweden seems to be a popular location for the Volkswagen Group to conduct such tests, so much so that they've got a base in the town of Arvidsjaur, where temperatures can be 176F lower than what is experienced in the deserts of Nevada.

Reciently, our pals at CarPix spotted an updated Amarok pickup testing with what appears to be an updated front end and minor interior revisions, as made evident by the disguised dashboard.  We're hearing that the Amarok will receive the updated corporate 'face' in 2017, along with updated infotainment and powertrain revisions.

Although we have yet to see these changes, we're willing to be that our lust for the Amarok will remain unchanged.
